Charity Cycle Launches Ian’s Trust Fundraisers

A Spring cycle into Clare and back will mark the first official fundraiser for Ian’s Trust. The cycle on Saturday 16th February is part of Blulift’s John Cusack’s ‘Pounds for Ian’s Trust’ and will travel from Limerick to Clarecastle and back with refreshments served at Clarecastle for all cyclists. A minimum contribution of €15 is required and all participants will be entered into a draw for a number of valuable prizes. All funds raised from the event will be used to support families of children who have suffered severe acquired brain injury.

A major cycle for Ian’s Trust is being organised by Blulift later in the summer which is hoped will become one a permanent fixture in the cycling calendar. We hope that many of our industry colleagues and customers will join us on the bike in February and late summer for this great cause. Welcome return to Service and Maintenance Team

Blulift are delighted to welcome Christy Cronin back to work following his recent knee surgery. Christy is widely regarded as one of Irelands leading powered Access Engineers and has over 20 years experience to date. The story on the GAA scene is it that the surgery was so successful he may be lining out for his beloved Cappamore Gaa club in the future! Christy rejoins an expanded Service and Maintenance team now covering the entire country through our new mobile service fleet.

Blulift Supporting Ians Trust

Our start to the New Year has began with Blulifts John Cusack joining the Limerick wide Charity Weight Loss campaign in his Pounds for Ian’s Trust Challenge. Over the next few weeks John will aim to lose weight and attract sponsorship for Ian’s Trust. The campaign is being followed on TV3. Health & Safety Standards Set by Blulift

As part of the continued investment and expansion in new innovative access equipment Blulift continues to set the benchmark in Health & Safety. The coming weeks will see a new training programme launched as a result of recent retraining of our instructors. Blulift will now offer three qualified IPAF instructors in house representing nearly one third of Ireland’s qualified IPAF instructors. The retraining is delivered by AJ Access’s Lee Simmonds and will see the Blulift team of John Cusack, Pat Brown and Eric Dillon deliver approved IPAF MEWP training in the new state of the art operator training facilities in Raheen or onsite for customers. Pat Brown is recognized as one of the countries leading instructors with over 10 years experience and also brings considerable Health & Safety experience. Pat has been invited to deliver Health & Safety Consultancy and Training in a range of fields and also in the preparation of Safety and Method Statements. 2013 will see the launch of Blulifts Work at Height Safely campaign which will also see the availability of new safety focused access equipment not available until now in the marketplace.

Blulifts ‘Lifting the Nation’ Sporting Moments 2013 Calendar has arrived and gone. From Katie Taylor to the Munster haka, 12 great moments in sport are remembered. Demand for the calendars has been unprecedented and required a re-print to satisfy demand for the calendar.

In our mission to set industry standards from pre delivery inspection audits to Blulift service and maintenance we recently received a number of endorsements for our approach from some of Irelands largest companies. The team at Blulift is proud to be recognized by Merck Sharp & Dohme for the standards we are setting. Our recent involvement with some of the largest manufacturing, pharma, medical device and utilities companies has seen our spiderlifts and specialist access equipment solve access problems in industrial situations that would otherwise have cost significant time and money.

A Month in the Life – 23 Metre Spider Lift

Our 23 metre spider lift is one of the busiest machines in Ireland. Watch out for our Tour of Ireland in the coming weeks detailing life as a 23 metre spider lift and the variety of jobs and places it is visiting. In the past number of weeks it has travelled from Cork to Kerry, Athlone to Dublin to Limerick. Our upcoming video blog reveals the range of industries and jobs the boom is involved in.



Raheen Business Park Walks a Mo-Mile 

On Friday the 30th of November Blulift Joined our Raheen Business Park neighbors who came together to walk a Mo-Mile and support Movember.

Companies from the Raheen Business Park on board for the Mo-Mile included: Dell, Analog B.V., Stryker, On-Semi Conductor, Ser Com Solutions, Blulift Ltd., and SPIN South West. It took place on Friday the 30th of November at 1.30 and around 500 people from all businesses in the Business Park took part.  Both men and women (Mo Sista’s) were encouraged to take part – and people not growing thier own Mo were encouraged to bring and wear their own!

A Bit about Movember

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Ireland and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer.

The funds raised in Ireland are directed to programmes run directly by Movember and Action Prostate Cancer, an initiative from the Irish Cancer Society. Movember funds support a broad range of innovative, world-class programmes in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.

Blulift expand support fleet and service innovation

Blulift have announced further expansion in their service fleet and Site Audit and Surveying services.  In the development of the complete Blulift Service approach, a new specialised site survey vehicle has been purchased for use by Pat Browne.  The new Blulift Hi Lux will be used for Site Assessment which is delivered by Pat for specialist access jobs whether is it is difficult outdoor terrain or intricate indoor access jobs.  The inclusion of a height assessment system enables Blulift to identity which of its specialist fleet of equipment is required.  The Blulift Site Audit Process is developed to enable our customers work safely and efficiently at height based on a thorough assessment of equipment is most appropriate.

The arrival of the new Volvo FM11 26 Tonner 6×2 Rigid Truck is a further expansion of the company’s delivery systems.  The increased focus on efficiency by Blulift and customer requirements will ensure the expanded fleet can continue to respond to immediate Access installation requirements.  In keeping with the Blulift Green Standards the Volvo rigid truck is selected based on its compliance to Euro 5 for reduced emissions.  The acquisition of the Hi Lux and the Volvo FM11 is investment by Blulift into ensuring the customer process continues to be developed from Site Audit, Machine prescription for the specialist roles to delivery in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner.


2013 Pioneering Launch for Blulift

The coming weeks sees the arrival of the latest industry technology to Blulift. The Nifty Lift HR 21 represent the leading edge in powered access equipment.  The new HR 21 will be formally launched by Blulift in January 2013.

The specialist HR 21 represent a major investment in safety with the inclusion on the SiOPS system which will be the new safety standard in boom lifts.

Powered access supply meets demand – Autumn starts with upsurge in demand

Blulift is delighted to announce the purchase of 20 new electric scissor lifts for delivery in October.  The Genie range will include Genie 1932, 2632 and 3246 scissor lifts and will cater for the surge in demand for the Blulift powered access equipment particularly catering for the industrial sector, maintenance and fit outs.  In addition to the 20 machines due in October a further 20 Genie machines will arrive in January to service the demand from the Pharmaceutical sector.  The Blulift Green Standard and adherence to strict quality controls has resulted in Blulift becoming one of the largest powered access suppliers to the Irish Pharma industry.  The new deal with Genie represents a further investment of almost €500,000 into new powered access stock.  In order to service the demand for the entire range of powered access equipment Blulift has recently increased the team to nine with plans to add to this in the coming months.

Blulift extends its reach

Blulift welcomed its largest reach Boom with the arrival of the new Genie 125.  The 125 has a working reach of 131 feet.  The machine is already busy with recent jobs including working on Wind Turbines and a series of large scale factory maintenance jobs.

Rathmore shared living project benefits from fresh look thanks to Blulift

The recent winners of the Spin Southwest FM promotion with Blulift availed of the Genie 565 Boom for two weeks to give a local shared living housing project a fresh look with the painting of the exterior of the houses in the development.

One of the country’s leading sports campus’s availed of the Blulift C230 for maintenance for the new all weather pitch complex on the North campus.  The facility is home to the countries only 4G UEFA and IRB approved pitches.  Blulift is proud to have worked with most of the leading sports facilities in Ireland from the Aviva, Thomond Park, Croke Park and now the latest addition to the sports infrastructure in UL

New Renault Service Fleet to deliver new industry standard.

Blulift has launched its new mobile Service and Repair fleet with the unveiling of its new Renault Service stock.  Senior Sales Executive Pat Brown was on hand to take delivery of the new Service fleet that will expand the Blulift service options to its nationwide customer base.  Pat Brown explained that the purchase of the Service Fleet was as direct response to a programme of customer research to determine how Blulift can continuously improve their customer service.

Blulift will now provide an option for customers to avail of the Blulift Service, Repair or Maintenance services either on site or at their premises.  The vans are fitted out with complete workshop facilities to provide nationwide coverage for Service and Repairs.   Among the services provided by Blulift in Scheduled maintenance and servicing, Thorough Examination and certification, Machine refurbishment, One off servicing and inspections, Major repairs in addition to stocking a vast range of spare parts.


Blulift Green Standard Development

As part of the ongoing commitment by Blulift to continuously enhance the Blulift Green Standard the arrival of our new Service felt is the 2012 nominated Green project plan.  Each year we implement a major new Green initiative in a chosen department that contributes to the overall Blulift Green Standard.  This year the selected department is Service, Repairs and Maintenance.

The new mobile service fleet provide Blulift with the facility to travel to customer sites and will now result in many saved journeys by customers to bring their fleet to theLimerickservice depot.  Our Service experts will now travel to the customers site and carry out all service, repairs and maintenance in one visit saving considerable transportation costs, time and carbon emissions.  All of the Renault service vans are completed fitted out for use as a mobile workshop.

The Limerick based company already runs a CTE Zed20C truck mounted lift in its UDrive fleet and chose the T230 for its overall specification which includes up to 12 metres of outreach, an overall width of just 800mm, an overall length of 5.28 metres and an unrestricted platform capacity of 200kg.

John Cusack of Blulift said: “This machine will be an ideal asset for our fleet, it is under two metres high and weighs 2,900kg which allows us to tow it behind a Landrover Discovery. The CTE products are very reliable and easy to use, and the technical support and comprehensive spares holding from CTE UK made our buying decision easy.”

Training News – Upsurge in Blulift Training Requests

The recent increase in the level of training provided by Blulift onsite and offsite is showing some promising levels of recovery across all the sectors the company deals in.  Pictured above is Pat Brown delivering the training to security company MTS Security in how to correctly use a van mounted hoist.  The level of training delivered in house has doubled based on tradesmen renewing licences for use in Ireland as opposed to training to travel overseas.  Green shoots in a number of key industries.




Blulift Onsite Training expands

The Raheen offices of Blulift are delighted to welcome Transtrain.ie, Specialist Training Provider to the Road Transport Industry.  Transtrain will deliver their ADR training from the Blulift offices.   Transtrain is one of only six Training Providers approved by the Health and Safety Authority to provide ADR training in Ireland

Blulift Reaches Parts that no other can…..

The versatility of the Blulift range was further illustrated when the spiderlift was hoisted and lowered into one of the main drums in Aughinish Alumna for maintenance and cleaning.  The ability to manoeuvre the spiderlift inside the drum based on various surface levels was the criteria for the Blulift Spiderlift.

Introducing Pat Brown – Sales Executive Munster

Blulift is delighted to announce the appointment of Pat Brown who will be responsible for sales and hire activity in the Munster region. Pat is recognised nationally as one of the leading industry professionals with over 10 years experience working in the powered access industry.

Pat holds an ICM Diploma in Business Management as well as an ICM Diploma in Marketing. He is also an IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) MEWP & Harness Instructor and has successfully completed FETEC level 6 Train The Trainer and has an IOSH Diploma in Managing Safety. Pat is also an Occupational First Aid & Manual Handling Instructor.

A lifelong member of Shannon RFC Pat has represented the club at every level from underage to senior. Since retiring from playing he has coached at senior and underage level in the club.

Spin Southwest Winner Announced

We are delighted to announce the winner of the Blulift Local Community Project in association with Spin Southwest.  The winning project was to use Blulift equipment to repaint a community / elderly residents housing project in Rathmore Co. Kerry.    Congratulations to all in Rathmore and a worthy winner.



10th June 2012:

Blulift Up for Community Art Project 

The Southside CLASP ‘REAL EYES’ Community art project will bring to life one image to be selected from five shortlisted images in a human re-creation of the image on the Old Christians GAA Pitch in Rathbane on June 22nd.  Blulift will supply the access equipment required to co-ordinate the layout of the image using local residents from the community to form the shape of the selected image.   Residents are currently voting for their preferred image to recreate on the day.  In addition to using the Blulift Spiderlift to organise the group all filming and camera work will use the Spiderlift to secure pictures from height.  The Spiderlift range is currently in high demand as a result of filming assignments and sports event photography in Dublin and Limerick.
